Ecanus•net :: Poems
So here we are, Fallen Angel's poetry page. I thought about arranging them by subject, then I thought about arranging them by date, and then it all started getting rather complicated, so I decided instead just to stick with a plain and simple A to Z by title. Want to see all the poems with titles beginning with C? Just click the 'C' and as if by magic the poems shall appear! Them squirrels that run this place ain't half speedy!
This is my assorted collection of poems spanning the years. These cover many times, places and feelings. Some have details of where I was when I wrote them, what I was doing, and what inspired them. With others, it's so long ago now I've no idea where they came from, only that I liked them enough to keep them around.
Some were written as 'me', some for other people, and some while I was trying to get "into character" for whatever I happened to be writing at the time – the weird ones, I'm claiming insanity grounds on. ;–)
Press the big red button and wait for the bang
Go down in flames, that's the plan
Too fucked to think
Too wired to sleep
And all I keep doing is to keep thinking
is it wrong to know it's doomed?
Does that make it worse?
There's nothing to stop me,
Too late to break
Even if i wanted to stop,
But this is fun, this crazy fairground ride!
Press the big red button and wait for the bang.
Go down in flames, that's the plan.
When all around me skies are grey,
you come along and brighten my day.
When I doubt myself you urge me on,
with your encouragement I can be strong.
When I need comfort you know the right words to say,
to reassure me and my fears to allay.
My darkest days you've seen me through,
Whenever you're around the skies are blue.
The world is a better place with you in it,
My world is a better place, bright and sunlit,
Your acts of kindness I cannot repay,
I only hope I can be there for you some day.
For your friendship I thank you with all of my heart,
and to you my love and affection impart.
Springtime comes with a carpet of flowers,
delicate bright and new,
and a promise of warm soft summer evenings to come.
Sunlight strong banishes thoughts of winter,
and brings to mind springs past,
so close you can almost touch them.
It brings new energy,
and comfort of good things to come.
Birds wheel and soar, graceful on high
Dark smudges against cloudless cornflower blue sky
Down below all is still, nothing moves down on the ground
A sense of serenity spreads all around
A golden bright orb beats down warming our flesh
While a gentle cool breeze serves to refresh
The sweet scent of mown grass comes soft on the breeze
And leaves rustle gently atop verdant trees
The pressures of life seem distant right here
Warm and at peace under this bright golden sphere
Our energy sapped we're content here to rest
And allow the sun our strength to revest.
